MOSQUE MODE

Privacy Policy

A little quieter. A little closer.

Last updated 1 October 2026

Mosque Mode is built for prayer, not for selling your information. This page explains what stays on your phone and what is saved only when you choose to share something.

What stays on your phone

Prayer times, your chosen masjid, silence settings, theme, reading progress, and the name, email, address, city, state, and country you enter at setup are stored on this device. Location is used on the phone to calculate prayer times and to show masjids near you. We do not sell location, and we do not run advertising or analytics toolkits in the app.

Location

Precise location is used to calculate prayer times and to find masjids near you. Coordinates may be sent to a prayer-time service and to Google Places so those results can be shown. Location is not used for advertising and is not sold.

When you share masjid timings

If you add or update timings from Finder, or you agree to share an update from Mosque Mode, we save the masjid name, place, prayer times, and the name from your setup — or “Anonymous” if you choose that. A private id for this app install links your masjid notes, bug reports, and ideas so the same person can be recognised without an account. Other people using Mosque Mode can see the timings and the display name (or Anonymous). They cannot see your email or city from a timings contribution. You can delete a contribution you added. When that contribution was the latest one, the previous person’s times are restored.

When you send feedback

Feedback uses the name and email from setup, plus a short note you write. A screenshot is optional. We also attach a little context that helps fix the issue: app version, phone type, and the place already known to the app. Your email is used only to reply about that note, or about a later update. Screenshots are stored so they can be opened while looking into the report. The name, email, and full address from setup are also saved for the developer so those replies are possible. Other people using the app cannot read that setup list.

Keys stored for the app

The app may download a Maps key and similar settings from our database so those values can change without an app update. That download does not include your personal information.

Who can see it

Shared timings are visible inside Mosque Mode. Feedback is visible to the developer, Adnan Sameer, and is not shown to other people in the app. Messages may also be emailed to the developer so a reply is possible. We do not sell this information.

Your choices

You can turn off location in your phone settings. Prayer times and Finder will be less accurate without it. You can choose Anonymous when sharing timings, and you can delete a timings contribution you added. You can skip a screenshot. Uninstalling the app removes what is stored only on the phone. Shared timings and feedback already sent stay so other people are not left without the times they rely on, unless you delete that contribution in the app or write to us and ask for a message to be removed.
